Drinkers and teetotalers are equally welcome. Bring snacks to share and some social knitting to occupy your hands during lively conversation. We don't recommend knitting that requires concentration, such as lace, for this boisterous group. On the last Friday of June we celebrate the birthdays of friends born in the month of June! Happy birthday Cathey C., Aimee L., Rhonda D., and Doris M.!

We are excited to host David Gentzsch of Ozark Handspun for a unique class - Nuno felting! Nuno felting is a Japanese fabric felting technique. It melds loose fiber, usually wool, into a sheer fabric such as silk gauze. This creates a lightweight felt that can totally cover the background fabric or be used as a single decorative design. The Nuno felting process is particularly suitable for fine garment making, since silk-backed felt ensures a stable felt that will not stretch out of shape like normal felt. Because it is lightweight and easy to manipulate it can also be dyed more readily than traditional felt. Other fabrics or open weaves can be used as the felting background, resulting in a wide range of textural effects and colors.* Cost for this class will be $60, which includes all materials (crinkle chiffon, Ozark Opulent, pencil roving and rolling mat).

Join us for our 3rd semi-annual "Blue Party". Bex will have the Indigo blue pots going. Bring $5 donation for dyes, treats, T-shirts to tie up and yarn to dye (or buy it here!) The last "Blue Party" we had was soo much fun! People went home with blue t-shirts, turquoise yarns, and woad tattoos. Let Bex do the cooking for you! She'll spend about three days carefully brewing and balancing her indigo potions and you get to use them without all the fuss. The cost? A mere $5 to dip 3 skeins or 2 t-shirts. There will be four vats of indigo (three of various protein formulations and one cellulose) going, including the very rare Saxon blue. Very few people in the world can make Saxon blue, and we are fortunate that Bex is one of them! Some tie dyeing equipment will be available, but call ahead for extra materials needed if you want to tie dye.
